Interlude - The Third

The great Hall of Archives, as always, remained silent. One of the many torches that had illuminated the space for over two millennia made a harsh buzzing sound and sputtered out, but the light from those remaining was more than sufficient to keep the hall warm and bright.

In the crypt room buried deep below the hall, an intense vibration began to stir the centuries old layer of ancient dust that covered everything excepting always the urns holding the ashes of the dead, and the large sarcophagus nestled under its arched vault.

One by one, over a period of days, the five red lights at the foot of the sarcophagus had turned to green as the glowing crystalline window below them counted down the cycle until the completion of the resurrection sequence.

With the passing of each cycle, the vibration emanating from the sarcophagus increased in intensity. Occasionally its steady pitch changed from a constant thrum to the harsh rasping sound of metal grating on metal.

The window below the row of green lights began to flash, alternating between green and yellow. When green, the display continued its cyclic countdown until final resurrection, but when it flashed to yellow, the words it displayed were troublesome:
